Denumerability and algorithm

Something came to mind today about the nature of numbers and algorithm that i should have noticed a long time ago. I suppose that i did realize this at some level, but i never had seen in its simplified straightforward form.

This was my insight:

For any open interval in R, no matter how small, there is no algorithm that can span the interval.
For any finite subset of a denumerable set (e.g., Z, Z+, Q, or C), an algorithm can be constructed that will span the subset.

This will stop me from even attempting to write for-loops for case 1.
